Maternity Session in Coal Creek Canyon, a shoot on the train tracks

Most people don't know this about me, but I spent many years doing nature/landscape photography and I wasn't very interested in photographing people.  And then all that changed in February 2011, when I found out that I was pregnant.  Suddenly, I could see the beauty in people and nature; and I love taking pictures that combine the beauty in nature with the beauty of people, family, love, and friendship.  And taking maternity photos might be my favorite session because it reminds me of this change in my life and reminds me of my own pregnancy.  Not that I miss being pregnant, but I loved the anticipation of meeting my child and the new adventure that awaited Josh and I.
I really had a great time taking these photos of Bethany and her hubby Chris, they are welcoming a baby boy in just a few more weeks and they have a great affection for each other.  It reminded me a lot of my husband and I before we had our daughter.  Chris was right there to help Bethany if she needed anything; and as adventurous as she is for hiking out to the train tracks for this shoot at 33 weeks pregnant, its definitely not easy to change out of your hiking boots -- and Chris was right there to help <3
I truly love how these photos turned out and hope they cherish them for years to come.
