Postpartum and Fresh 48 Photography after Birth at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor

Earlier in the year, I shared Samantha’s birth story with the Michigan Midwives at The University of Michigan Hospital. Even though her birth plan changed, she had an incredibly positive and supported cesarean birth. The next day, I came back to the hospital to see my clients and to take some photos of them on the ‘other side’ of this parenting adventure.

Their gorgeous daughter was wide awake, her full head of hair dried out from the day before and she looked even cuter than the day before. Her eyes were wide open and she was checking out the world just like a first born daughter.

I love seeing families after the baby is born because birth is such an intense space, even when it’s peaceful. All the anticipation is over and you just have the love and excitement of getting to know this little person for the first time on the outside.
